Miss Snow White went for a fabulous trip to the coast with dad over the weekend. Unfortunately, she came back with a little stow-away on her chin - a paralysis tick!
Miss Snow White couldn’t walk when she came to visit us, and couldn’t even wag her tail in hello. Dr Sharlet was quick to identify the source - a tick - and start Miss Snow White on intravenous fluids, steroids and tick antivenom. After a night in the hospital she was able to wag her tail and walk around the clinic, although she was unsteady on her feet.
Thankfully, Miss Snow White has completely recovered from her run-in with a paralysis tick. Her dad has learned a valuable lesson about tick prevention, and is going to make sure she's protected with the right products before their next trip away.
